The design
River of Ink unfolds like a moving landscape. Dense black marks gather at one end, dissolve into mist through the centre and reappear as a mineral-green horizon at the other. The elongated format creates different compositions depending on how it is looped, knotted or left loose.
The story
Chinese landscape traditions often make emptiness active: mist, water and unpainted space allow the eye to travel. This original design uses that visual principle without copying historical artwork or calligraphy.
